- Accidental discovery during experiments with cathode ray tubes: a sheet covered with one of the substances Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen [1] was experimenting began to emit light while in the proximity of the cathode ray tube.
- The first publicly known X-Ray photograph was actually made by Albert Von Kölliker [2], a swiss lecturer, who used his hand in his lectures to demonstrate the effect of X-rays.
